To reduce our carbon footprint, we initially thought we'd make the trip in a 2-person Kayak. After crunching some numbers, we agreed that flying was the only option. :)

One night in a room with whirlpool

The whirlpool gives us a nice way to relax after a long day! From here Peter can regale Deanna with tales of his Elephant adventure while the air jets melt away the injuries he sustained from falling off his trunked steed.

Dinner at a fancy restaurant

Tonight we celebrate with a bottle of wine and white table cloth.. Options about in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, but we've got our eye on The Royal Palm Restaurant in Phuket.

One night in a standard room

To keep our trip budget friendly, we're staying a night or two in the standard room. And let's face it, Deanna and I are simple folk who don't need luxury ALL the time (just most of it) :)

Night in Beach Hut

Staying in one of these would be a dream come true for us. A thatched hut on the beach -- or better yet, OVER the water -- is paradise defined. Here's hoping neither of us sleepwalks our way into the ocean.

Picnic on the beach

Keeping it simple and beautiful. Today we eat lunch right on the seashore.. authentic Thai cuisine on Patong Beach sounds pretty good!

Snorkeling rentals

Phuket offers world class scuba diving, where Peter will head beneath the surface for his first time. The sea life is so much more vivid when you are seeing it in person. Don't forget to take a breath of air and watch out for sting rays!

The beautiful and untouched Coral Island is to the south of Phuket. This island is spectacular clear sea, clean white sand beaches astonishing coral reefs and marine life, will help us forget that time exists. Coral Island is One of the most well-known destinations from the southern end of Phuket Island, is encircled by the outstanding reefs and crystal clear water where we'll enjoy world class snorkling.

One round of golf

Thailand has more than 200 golf courses -- 30 of them are considered "world class". A round of golf, amid palm trees and warm tropical breezes, will be the perfect way to spend an afternoon in South East Asia.

Lunch at a restaurant

We've got our eye on a few places. The first is Karon Beach in Phuket. Hopefully the food is as good as we've heard.. This place comes highly recommended! Another place we'd like to chow at is one recommended to us by a friend of Deanna: The Khun Churn, where a vegetarian buffet is served amid stunning tropical vistas.

A night of clubbin'

Time to break out the dancin' shoes and head out to the night scene.. The best place to go is the not always the most well advertised. Talk to the locals and test your instincts!

Phi Phi Islands Trip

Phuket to Phi Phi Islands by Speedboat. During the tour you will discover the fantastic landscapes of 'Maya Bay' made famous by the film 'The Beach', enjoy a great lunch at a beach side location and after lunch you will transfer to a secluded beach where you can enjoy swimming, snorkeling and even feeding the monkeys at one of the stops.

The Maesa elephant camp in Chiang Mai is the leader in the field of elephant breeding, training, healthcare and sustainable tourism. We want to see for ourselves!
