Room for a night

We are staying at Playacar Palace for our week. We chose Playacar Palace in Playa del Carmen because it offers a resort setting, but we can get out (using our own two feet) and explore the city of Playa del Carmen and the beaches along the city area because of its location. By choosing this gift you will be helping us stay in the lovely room (pictured here) that has a jacuzzi tub next to the window that overlooks the Caribbean Sea.

Airport transportation

We need to get from the aiport to our resort and back again so we have reserved a ride. A shuttle will take three times as long so we have a private car waiting for us!

Airfare for 600 miles

The internet has taught us that the distance is approximately 4,840 miles from Oakland, California to Cancun, Mexico.

Checking the baggage

Nowadays, bags can't travel for free on our airline. We need to check a bag each so that we can take our precious necessities.

Reading Books

As much as we love to hang out together, we also like to enjoy quiet time together. We can read on the airplane, by the pool and our the balcony overlooking views of the ocean.

Sunscreen

Being safe in the sun will help us keep our skin healthy for years to come.

A night on the town

We want to visit Playa del Carmen's "Quinta Avenida" (5th Avenue) pedestrian promenade. 5th Avenue is THE place to see and be seen in the tourist zone and it's located one block off the beach, adjacent to the "Zocalo" (main square) in central Playa del Carmen.

Swim with the...

dolphins OR sharks!! Yes, we have found that there are opportunities for either and the debate is on as to which memory we want to have on our honeymoon. For the dolphins, we would swim with moms and their offpsring. They allow 6 people at a time with 4 dolphins. For the sharks, they put the nurse shark next to your leg as you stand on a platform, then you get into the water and snorkle with the sharks around you (but no touching). They allow 12 people max and 4 sharks.

Tulum / Xpu-Ha Tour

Tulum was a strategically designed and fortified city situated next to the Caribbean Sea overlooking an outstanding turquoise beach. We will continue the tour with a visit to othe ecologial park Xpu-Ha where we will enjoy a day of snorkeling or kayaking and have a delicious lunch buffet. The guided tour to the archaeological site lasts 2 hours.

Chichen Itza Tour

Our main purpose of the trip! This is the most recognized of the ruins. Located some 126 miles, 2 1/2 hours from Cancun, Chichen Itza, one of the new Seven Wonders of the World, was the most important and advanced ceremonial and religious center in Mesoamerica.

Xcaret - eco park

Xcaret is a magical paradise where culture, ecology and Mexican wildlife meet. Among its great treasures, in Xcaret we can find Underground Rivers (we are really looking forward to floating down the river!), a Butterfly Pavilion, a Beach, Inlets and Xcaret’s one of a kind celebration “Xcaret Mexico Espectacular”. The price of the admission will include a lunch buffet and 2 drink coupons for us. At least we'll know that we can keep our energy up for a full day of fun. Check it out! www.xcaret.com

Snorkeling rentals

We would love to take the ferry from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel to explore a snorkeling beach where we will need to rent equipment in order to enjoy the fish.
