Vatican City

The tour itinerary takes visitors through the most significant cultural and religious areas within the Vatican Museums: the Pio Clementino (classical antiquity), the Geographical Maps and Tapestries Galleries (Renaissance art), the Raphael’s Rooms and The Sistine Chapel. Experience Michelangelo’s famous Creation of Adam with your own eyes as you explore the Sistine Chapel and wander Raphael’s Rooms. Be humbled by the imposing beauty of Saint Peter’s Basilica, where you will encounter another of Michelangelo’s masterpieces, La Pietà. The Roman Coliseum

The Flavius amphitheatre is the biggest and most imposing in the Roman world, but is also the most famous monument in Rome and is known as the "Colosseum" or "Coliseum".The Coliseum is one of the most imposing ancient structures. Imagine it all white, completely covered in splendid travertine stone slabs. It is elliptic in shape in order to hold more spectators. It had four floors; the first three had eighty arches each; the arches on the second and third floors were decorated with huge statues.

Padua & Brenta Riviera

Appreciate the scenic beauty as you drive along the Riviera del Brenta, linking Venice with the provincial capital of Padua. On this informative excursion you will: Enjoy a scenic drive along the River Brenta to see the magnificent gardens of Villa Pisani and then to one of Italy’s most important art cities, Padua. On the way to Padua, you will pass by several beautiful villas before proceeding through the town of Mira and Dolo, a well known shoe manufacturing center. Soon reach the village of Stra where a short stop will allow you to visit the beautiful gardens of Villa Pisani. Built in the 1700’s for the Pisani family, the villa is noted not only for its decorated interior, but also for the extensive grounds, highlighted by a famous maze. Finally, arrive in Padua, better known as the city of St. Anthony. The art panorama is dominated by the figure of Giotto, who left in Padua some of his masterpieces. Be guided on a walking tour that will take you through the town center and allow you to see a selection of beautiful piazza’s where a busy, fresh products’ market operates daily, and one that incorporates the Torre dell’Orologio (Clock Tower) with its astronomical clock dating back to year 1344. Approximate time for guided portion is 1 hour 45 minutes. Also visit St. Anthony’s Church, the huge basilica decorated with Byzantine domes and minaret towers. The church holds the tomb of St. Anthony and is the object of pilgrimages from all over the world. View and admire in the square in front of the church, Donatello’s 15th century bronze statue of mercenary Gattamelata, a masterpiece that greatly influenced sculpture during the Italian Renaissance era.

Florence & Pisa

Spend a full day among the many great treasures of Florence and Pisa and discover why few other travel experiences can match this journey. On this exciting excursion you will: After a motor coach journey of approximately 1½ hours, your walking tour of the majestic city of Florence begins. View the outside of the red domed, 15th century Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore (Duomo), the Baptistery, famous for its carved bronze doors, and the striking Campanile Bell Tower. Continue past Piazza della Signoria, an open-air art gallery overlooked by the imposing Palazzo Vecchio. Some major Italian artists, including a copy of Michelangelo’s David, adorn this unique square with wonderful statues. Enjoy the picturesque Piazza Santa Croce where you will have an exterior view of its famous church, erected in 1296 and housing famous tombs and monuments. Take a photo opportunity at the 14th century Ponte Vecchio Bridge, lined with shops selling gold and silver. After a typical Italian lunch in a local Florence restaurant, you will make your 1.5 hour journey to Pisa where you will be guided around Miracle Square visiting the inside of the Romanesque Cathedral and the round shaped Baptistery. Enjoy a special inside visit to the striking Leaning Tower of Pisa, the most famous tower in the world, only recently opened once more. Due to its inclination and beauty, the Tower has been the object of very special attention. Don't miss the 294-step climb to reach the top of the Tower.

Capri & Amalfi Coast

Visit two of the most famous places in Italy in one day – the breathtaking Amalfi Coast and beautiful Capri Island. On this dual excursion you will: Board a jetfoil for a 45-minute cruise to the wonderful island of Capri. Take a funicular up to the center of Capri. Follow your guide to the Augustus Gardens for a spectacular view over Marina Piccola and the Faraglioni rocks. Spend some time on your own wandering around the numerous elegant boutiques and cafes. Enjoy a tasty Italian Lunch served with wine at a local restaurant. Return down to the harbor by funicular. Board a private motorboat for 1¼ hour cruise along the scenic Amalfi Coast. Pass by the natural protected area of Ieranto Bay and the picturesque village of Positano. Arrive at Amalfi, situated at the mouth of a deep gorge along the coast. Follow your guide into Amalfi’s main square. Stop to see the magnificent façade of the 12th century cathedral. Enjoy some time on your own to explore this famous maritime village and take photographs. Drive above the hills of the Amalfi Coast and the motorway for approximately 1½ hours back to your ship. Visit the cameo factory if time permits.
